During the game, if you make certain choices, you'll get various traits to your character. Once you get a certain trait, it will stay until the end of that playthrough.
Traits can change certain lines of dialogue, interactions, and battles. Some traits affect gameplay more so than others.
|Short||Character creation||Changes certain lines of dialogue.|
|Chubby||Character creation||Initial bonus to HP and SP. Changes certain lines of dialogue. You will also not be able to equip the Bunny Suit.|
|Big Eater||Character creation, Chubby protagonist is selected||This trait causes you to become Hungry when walking around town. When this occurs, a random food or drink item in the Item menu will be consumed automatically. You will also eat your party member's food when eating at food carts, cafes, and restaurants.|
|Squeamish||The horror-loving student on the second floor
of school in Japan
|Not available if your stand is Red Garland, Cardigans, or Carpenters. Changes certain lines of dialogue.|

|Weak Stomach||Talking to your mother before leaving Japan||This trait will randomly inflict the Stomachache status effect after eating certain restaurant or street foods. Also changes dialogue in Hong Kong when meeting with the party at the restaurant.|
|Sickly||Talking to your mother before leaving Japan||This trait causes a hidden Sickness Gauge to gradually rise when walking around town, eventually resulting in collapse, which will waste a day or result in a Game Over if you're the only person in your party or Iggy's FP is less than 10.
The gauge can be lowered by getting an examination at a hospital, staying at an inn, using Cold Medicine, or using a skill. If passing out is imminent, your character will cough and complain as a warning, and use of the Radio without doing anything will see a different response.
If you have a party member with 10 or more FP, you will wake up in the inn and get an item after passing out. Item is dependent on character.
|Can't Swim||Charter Ship||Changes certain lines of dialogue. If you join the undersea battle with Jotaro, you will begin with Confuse status. You will not be able to remove the 10-turn time limit if your Stand is Deep Purple, Pixies, or Caravan, as the trait will take priority over the stand scene.|
|Afraid of Heights||Cable car platform in Singapore||Changes certain lines of dialogue. In the battle with The Tyde, you will start with Fear status.|
The traits listed below are exclusive to Chaos Mode.
|Junk||If your level is 1, there is a 1/4 chance of obtaining this trait at the start of the game||You will not be able to control your Stand until you level up. Until then, you'll be permanently inflicted with the "Wild" status effect, which makes you unable to use most skills.|
|Dissonance||Home in Japan depending on the hidden number created at the start of the game||Changes some instances of dialogue, you also start with less money and items in your house and have no second floor. You will not receive going-away presents from your family.|
|Orphan||Home in Japan depending on the hidden number created at the start of the game||Changes some dialogue and you will have no second floor to your house. You will also start with less items and money.|
|Parent-less Household||Home in Japan depending on the hidden number created at the start of the game||Changes some dialogue and you will have no second floor to your house. You will also start with less items and money.|
|Strange Family||Home in Japan depending on the hidden number created at the start of the game||You will have Ripple Breathing and Ripple Rush at the start of the game. As going-away presents, you'll receive a silk hat from your father, a bandana from your brother, and medicine, a ripple muffler, and Secret Book Vol. 1 from your mother. Changes some dialogue with Joseph.|
|Destiny of Zeppeli||Home in Japan depending on the hidden number created at the start of the game||As going-away presents, your mother gives you Secret Book Vol. 1 with the medicine.|
|Narcolepsy||Home||If you sleep in your bed at home, there's a 1/21 chance that you will obtain this trait. This trait causes you to randomly fall asleep in battle.|
|Lolicon||Talking to the little girl in the park in Japan||Changes certain lines of dialogue.|
|Super Strong||Kujo Residence||When escorting Kakyoin to the examination room on the first floor in the Hospital, your movement speed will not be halved.|
|Jotaro Fan||School Courtyard, School Infirmary (female only)||If you enter the school infirmary with the Hidden Photo that can be purchased in the Developer's Room, there is a chance of obtaining this trait. You can also obtain this trait by entering "Jotaro", "Jojo", or "Jotaro Fans" when joining clubs.
